PHOTO HUNTERS: WOODEN
This week’s theme is on WOODEN.
I took this shot during the Chinese New Year Street Celebration.
This is one of the stage display set up by the Penang Hokkien Association.
The backdrop depicted how a Chinese kitchen will look like in the olden days.
Other than the WOODEN logs they used as burner for cooking,
you can also see WOODEN walls, WOODEN shelves, WOODEN stools, WOODEN chopboard and also WOODEN pails, etc.
Rattan baskets are also one of the main kitchen wares used for steaming delicious mantou (buns) and meats.

FEEL FREE TO DROP BY CRIZ’S SANCTUARY FOR PHOTOHUNTER.
Have a nice PhotoHunt.
Thank you for your visit and have a nice weekend!

They’re still a pretty common sight in parts of China these days. Makes me appreciate my kitchen!! LOL~ Imagine still have to use branches of trees to start a fire… *GULPZ*
When I was younger, I live in a wooden kampung house and had such a kitchen! Fire hazard.
